Home Care - Short Breaks Service
Our team provides short breaks of a social nature for a relative or friend caring for an older person over 60 years of age.
Welcome to the Short Breaks Service which provides carers of older people living in Sandwell with a regular free break of up to four hours at least once a week.
During this time, they can be assured that a fully trained professional Care Assistant is looking after the person that they would normally care for.
An important feature of our service is that we can offer clients the same Care Assistant every week, and hence build mutual trust with the older person and their carer.
We work closely with local PCT to share best practices, and receive referrals
from agencies such as Adult Health (Social Services), District Nurses, Hospital Discharge Planners, Alzeimer Groups, G.P.'S etc.
We also have a new FREE service which offers support to main carers on a fast response basis, if you need to attend medical appointments, dental treatment, funerals, weddings, or just a call to check on your loved one whilst you are on holiday, then we can provide a care worker to ensure they are cared for in your absence.
